Senator Tom Harkin of Iowa has just introduced a bill which the ACLU describes as “an excellent, comprehensive solution to close the Guantanamo prison and end indefinite detention by requiring the government to get its act together and finally charge anyone alleged to have committed a crime.”

If you like being justifiably ignored by your elected officials, you can type your name and address in a form and send your own copy of the ACLU's message on their site. If you prefer being listened to, even slightly, you'd be better off contacting Mssrs. Reed & Whitehouse through their own websites and explaining in your own words why you think (“think” being the operative word here) Guantanamo should be shut down.
