Nickelodeon’s long-awaited collaboration with Mel Gibson kicks off with this funny story about Jesus being crucified by the Romans. Animated by the same artists responsible for “Rugrats” and “As Told by Ginger,” this portrayal of the character of Christ is accessible and engaging for children of all ages.
Jesus starts his day like any kid does—he sleeps through his alarm and has to rush to get to the bus. Then he loses his lunch money, and he can’t get his carton of chocolate milk open and winds up spilling it all over his lap. And that’s not the last of it! He gets called into the Principal’s office for talking during class (giving the Sermon on the Mount), and after a long lecture he gets hauled away and nailed to a cross to die a slow horrible death as a lesson to all the other young children.
A fun story, and a great lesson. Good boys and girls that listen to adults and follow the rules don’t get nails pounded through their wrists—they get milk and cookies!
