The Swedish Invasion

Ika Johannesson and Vejde Gustafsson have been doing Sex since 2002. Awarded Cultural Magazine of the Year in 2005, Sex is an extended interview magazine that focuses on world-wide culture-makers of art, music, movies, and literature: a hot and heavy, verbal back and forth journal printed on heavy stock paper, in full color, with full-bleed layout that any publication in their right mind would admire, covet, and envy. Ika has been working as a journalist of music and popular culture for ten years, predominantly for the largest Swedish daily newspaper Dagens Nyheter, Swedish national radio, and Swedish national television. She is currently writing a book on the history of Swedish Death and Black Metal, due out in late, late 2007. She is also a featured contributor to Urban Recreation, a book about two Swedish street artists, out in the next few days.

Vejde is a drummer, illustrator, graphic designer, magazine store clerk, and Art Director of Sex. He illustrates regularly for a magazine of the youth section of the Swedish Social Democratic party. Vejde used to play in seven bands at the same time before deciding to concentrate on other stuff. He will very soon return to Sweden, and graduate to new projects.
